2015 Songwriters in Seattle Awards – Official Rules

Eligibility

1. You must be a Pacific NW artist in order to be eligible (WA, OR, ID, and British Columbia).
2. Songwriters in Seattle Awards judges are not eligible.
3. Entries must be submitted by TBD.
4. Submitted songs must be original. Judges will be taking into account both songwriting and performance. Covers and re-makes will not be considered.
5. You may submit only one song per category.”Prizes will be awarded to honorees by random drawing. Honorees must be present at the awards ceremony to be eligible for prizes.
6. $5 per entry will be collected. Proceeds contribute to event costs including prizes.
7. Past finalist songs from the 2013 NWME Songwriting Awards are not eligible for re-submission.

Submission

There are multiple ways to submit a song for Songwriters in Seattle award consideration:
1. Complete the form on SongwritersInSeattle.org/2015awardsubmission to easily fill out all necessary information and upload an MP3 for the song you want to submit.
2. Send a song file (mp3 preferred) through e-mail to awards@songwritersinseattle.com along with songwriter/performer names, award category you are submitting to, and contact information. One song per e-mail, please.

Judging

1. An initial small panel consisting of SiS leaders will sort and confirm entries into appropriate categories, then determine a list of potential honorees for each category. If a category does not have a sufficient number of entries, we will not give out an award for that category this year.
2. The list of honorees will be voted on by the wider SiS leadership team, as well as other VIPs as determined by the SiS board. The vote will take place via a simple online radio button form. All songs being voted on will be made available online to voters.
3. The honorees will be determined by the SiS Board of Directors based on votes received. All decisions are final.
4. Winners will be announced TBD at the 2nd Annual Songwriters in Seattle (formerly NWME) Awards event, then posted both on nwmusicexperience.org and songwritersinseattle.com afterward.
5. Prizes will be awarded to honorees that are present at the awards ceremony by random drawing.
